IPhO 2021: Vietnamese contestants win three gold medals
As announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on July 24, all five Vietnamese contestants won medals, namely three golds and two silvers, at the International Physics Olympiad 2021 (IPhO 2021).

The three gold medalists were Trang Dao Cong Minh from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students; Nguyen Manh Quan and Tran Quang Vinh from Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted.

The two silver medalists were Nguyen Trong Thuan from Lam Son High School for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa province; and Bui Thanh Tan from Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, Nghe An province.

With three gold and two silver medals, Vietnam ranked 7th behind the Republic of Korea, China, Russia, the United States, Taiwan and Romania.

Virtually hosted by Lithuania, the IPhO 2021 attracted 368 contestants from 76 countries and territories worldwide.

Earlier, the Vietnamese contestants at the International Mathematics Olympiad 2021 had won one gold, two silver and two bronze medals (VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students contestants won 2 silver and one bronze medals); and the contestants at the 2021 International Biology Olympiad had won one gold, two silver and one bronze medals.
