Despite the regional and global negative impacts of the Covid-19 epidemic, the summit brings together 100 student representatives from the ASEAN member states including Laos, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Brunei, the Philippines, Cambodia, Malaysia, Vietnam; and the Republic of Korea. Ten Vietnamese delegates, including 3 from VNU, 4 from VNU HCM and 3 from Can Tho University, enthusiastically participated in the discussions and actively contributed to the summit’s sessions.
The delegates were divided into 10 groups for exchanging views on issues centering around such common topics as “The Coexistence between Humans and Nature”, “The Development of an ‘Untact’ (Contact-free) Society”, among others. After the discussions, the groups presented their recommendations for improving the suggested issues.
At the ASEAN-Korea Youth Summit 2021, the student delegates from Southeast Asian countries and Korea, with different cultures, socio-economic conditions and religions, had the opportunity not only to virtually experience and share, thereby gaining knowledge about the indigenous culture in each country, but also, through joint activities, to understand and empathize with one another to expand cooperation and to build a sustainable youth network between ASEAN and Korea.
