VNU and Ca Mau province: cooperation in human resource training and technology transfer
On March 23, 2022, in Ca Mau, VNU President Le Quan and VNU delegation had a meeting with the People's Committee of Ca Mau province on cooperation in human resource training and technology transfer.

Deputy Secretary of Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Huynh Quoc Viet wished VNU to support the province in turning sea level rise into an opportunity in aquaculture as well as take advantage of the long coastline to develop renewable energy.

Regarding the application of science and technology, the province wishes VNU to support in implementing scientific topics on economic development, such as shrimp farming, forest development, as well as digital transformation technology, e-commerce, especially human resources training.

From the perspective of sustainable and inclusive development, VNU President Le Quan emphasized the need of Ca Mau province to develop in a trend with harmony between economic development and sustainable environmental protection for promoting and linking progress with social justice, constantly improving local residents’ life quality.

Introducing VNU’s policy of supporting scholarships for PhD students and post-doctoral trainees to the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province, VNU President Le Quan hoped that localities, including Ca Mau, would appoint candidates and create conditions for them to participate in these training systems. Regarding marine and forest economic development, VNU would research and cooperate to solve key issues in an attempt to attract investors as well as study for both sustainable development and meeting local residents’ expectations.

VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son said that with the current development of digital technology, the training of human resources no longer faced the obstacle of distance. VNU’s development mission is to apply science and technology to socio-economic development.

He emphasized that VNU's science and technology team had been supporting many localities to implement applied topics in the fields of agriculture, microbial products, and water treatment in aquaculture. In addition, VNU scientists consulted and commented on national digital transformation, issues related to marine economy, e-government, smart city, etc. Therefrom, VNU can fully carry out the technology transfer to support Ca Mau province.
