QS World University Rankings 2022: VNU ranked in one more subject and climbs up in four others
On April 6, 2022, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the ranking of 51 academic disciplines of five broad subject areas for 1,543 world higher education institutions, with about 14,000 training programs.

According to the QS World University Rankings 2022 (QS WUR 2022), VNU had 6 of the 51 ranked subjects evaluated by QS. Apart from its 5 disciplines continuing to be ranked (4 of which climbed the ranks), VNU had one more subject, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, ranked for the first time.

VNU’s six academic disciplines ranked by QS WUR by subject 2022 include Computer Science and Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical and Manufacturing Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, Business and Management Studies, and Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Five of the six disciplines were listed in Group 500 globally; especially, Mathematics, Physics and Astronomy, Business and Management Studies, were ranked No. 1 in Vietnam.

QS WUR by subject 2022 evaluates universities according to 5 metrics including:

+ Academic reputation

+ Employer reputation

+ Research citations per paper

+ H-index

+ International Research Network

The QS ranking metrics emphasize the contribution to and impact of the training quality of a discipline/field on society (through the assessment of scholars and employers); contributions to scientific research (through citations per paper and H-index); and internationalization of scientific research (through International Research Network).

In the field of natural sciences, VNU’s Mathematics and Physics & Astronomy were ranked No. 1 in Vietnam and placed in Group 351-400 globally. VNU was also the only higher education institution in Vietnam ranked in this field.
