Delighted to welcome Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong and his delegation, VNU President Le Quan said that VNU was very active in implementing the activities under the project of building a Centre for Scientific Research and Coaching at the National University of Laos. The Centre with synchronous equipment and technical infrastructure will effectively serve scientific research, coaching and training activities of the National University of Laos; become a typical project of the partnership in education and scientific research between VNU and the National University of Laos, as well as symbolize the special friendship between Vietnam and Laos.

VNU President Le Quan believed that, through this project, VNU would not only support the National University of Laos in building and operating the Centre, but also exchange and cooperate with the university in many other fields. He hoped that Lao scientists would come to VNU to work and carry out scientific exchanges in the time to come.

Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong sent his thanks to VNU for contributing to improving the capacity of Lao officials, lecturers and students through cooperation activities in training and scientific research.

Informing VNU President Le Quan of the major tasks that were assigned to the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports by the Lao Government and included scientific research and the Lao language research, Minister Phout Simmalavong wished VNU to support the National University of Laos in particular and other Lao educational institutions in general in improving their scientific research capacity, implementing joint training and research projects.

On January 10, 2022, VNU President Le Quan and Lao Minister of Education and Sports Phout Simmalavong exchanged the co-operation documents between the two sides on the implementation of the project of building a Centre for Scientific Research and Coaching at the National University of Laos in the presence of PM Pham Minh Chinh and his Lao counterpart Phankham Viphavanh.
