On May 11 afternoon, the career talk with Marriott International was successfully held with the hybrid participation of over 150 students from different training programs of VNUIS. As a part of “Industry Insights Series” towards Job Fair 2022, this event is a wonderful opportunity for ISers to learn from:

-Ms. Vu Thi Mai: HR Director, Sheraton Hanoi Hotel

-Ms. Le Phuong Thao: HR Director, JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi

At the beginning of the seminar, a hot topic of the post-COVID-19 development of the hospitality industry was carefully dissected by 2 speakers. Although the reality of "digital transformation" has been taking over many industries, for hospitality, the human-to-human connection factor remains crucial to the service sector. Therefore, regarding a case study of the world's leading hotel business group - Marriott International, future candidates of VNUIS were informed about 9,000 job openings, along with 18 Resorts & Spas preparing to launch in Vietnam in the next 2-5 years.

Following the topic, two HR Directors revealed key events that students should not miss, such as: Marriott Virtual Career Day on the afternoon of May 12, and Career Day at JW Hotel Marriott Hanoi on May 27.

The Q&A session with two special guests was the most awaited part. ISers expressed many concerns, from the outlook factor in front office jobs, how employers choose candidates when they are inexperienced or non-hospitality graduates, to opportunities for career development in all over Vietnam as well as ASEAN and around the world. Vivid examples from the two speakers' 16-year career stories contributed to debugging and deeply inspiring "future hoteliers".
