Vietnamese students win seven gold medals at international invention contest

Vietnamese school students bagged seven gold medals for their inventions at the World Invention Creativity Olympic (WICO) 2022, which was held in the Republic of Korea from August 4 to 6.

This event encourages creative ideas, provides new insights, accelerates one’s creativity, improves presentation skills and establishes a global network. Besides, participants can jointly research core technologies of the fourth industry in search of new items, and the company can become a global market leader of patent product transactions where buyers can promote products through consultation.

The Vietnamese delegation to the event grouped students from four high schools throughout Hanoi, including the Hanoi – Amsterdam for the Gifted and three high schools under the Vietnam National University (VNU) – Hanoi.

The Vietnamese students brought to the competition 25 inventions and projects in three areas of technology, physics, and biology – chemistry.

WICO is an annual competition organised by the Korea University Invention Association and sponsored by the parliament of the Republic of Korea. Secondary and high school students worldwide are offered the chance to present their innovations.

The event encourages creative ideas, provides new insights, accelerates one’s creativity, improves presentation skills and establishes a global network.

This year’s event gathered the participation of nearly 1,000 entrants from 28 countries around the world.
