11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

In theory

The thesis has built up a theoretical framework for conducting research, models, hypotheses, research concepts and research scales.

The thesis researches the impact relationship of three groups: (1) Knowledge capital and (2) Innovation (innovation is a process and those are corporate activities that do not measure innovation results) and Business performance (includes financial and non-financial results). In which, the thesis examines the impact relationship of the constituent components of each group and considers the direct impact of each component of innovation on the business performance in enterprises.

The thesis applies modern analysis tools to test the model by Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to have a firm result and a high level of confidence.

In practice

The thesis has evaluated the current situation of the knowledge capital of Vietnamese enterprises, in which the human capital factor reached 2.892 points, the organizational capital factor reached 2.835 points and the social capital factor reached 3.467 points; the current situation of innovation, in which innovation of products/services reached 3.631 points, process innovation activities reached 3.553 points, creative innovation activities reached 3.512 points; organized innovation activities reached 3.07 points; and the current business performance of Vietnamese enterprises reached 3.524 points.

The thesis has assessed the level and trend of the impact of knowledge capital on innovation and the impact of innovation on the current performance of Vietnamese enterprises. In which, "Human Capital" and "Organizational Capital" dominate higher than "Social Capital" on the innovation activities of enterprises and both have positive effects. Innovation activities have a positive impact on business performance, of which the strongest and regulatory impact is "process innovational", followed by "organization innovational", the third is" marketing innovational " and the lowest is" product innovational".

The thesis proposes solutions to promote innovation to improve the performance of Vietnamese enterprises through knowledge capital. Specifically, the thesis proposes four solutions to improve business performance, including (1) Focus on operating processes innovation of Vietnamese enterprises; (2) Focus on organizational innovation in Vietnamese enterprises; (3) Innovating the marketing activities of Vietnamese enterprises; and (4) Properly assess the role of products/services innovation in Vietnamese business performance, and three solutions to promote innovation in Vietnamese enterprises, including (1) Fully exploiting the human capital of the enterprise through knowledge management; (2) Promoting the role of organizational capital in value-creating activities of Vietnamese enterprises; (3) Strengthening activities to improve the social capital of Vietnamese enterprises.
