The following suggestions could be the focus of future studies: Firstly, researching the impact of knowledge management on scientific research activities of a larger sample representing nearly 300 universities and academies in Vietnam, in order to accurately evaluate the extent and effectiveness of knowledge management on the Vietnamese higher education system. Secondly, comparing the impact of knowledge management on scientific research activities of Vietnamese universities with those of regional and global universities, to propose new points on knowledge management application for Vietnam. Thirdly, conducting research on the impact of other factors besides knowledge management on scientific research activities of universities, including the weight of their impact and correlation between those factors. This provides a comprehensive view on knowledge management in relation to scientific research activities of Vietnamese universities, which is crucial for developing macro policies in this field.
