The MOU was singed on 18 November, 2009
The Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald is one of the oldest academic institutions in Europe, was founded in 1456. A symbiosis of tradition and modernity attracts 12,000 students from all over the world to come here to study. Research priorities in Greifswald are the life sciences, physics and geosciences, cultural interaction in the Baltic/Nordic region, and law and economics. Research and teaching aim at true excellence. The latest achievements in genome research, population-oriented medical research, and fundamental research in physics have received international attention. The University is the largest employer in the region with 5029 employees. The five faculties are the basic units of organization at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-University of Greifswald: Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Law and Economics, Faculty of Medicine , Faculty of Philosophy, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. These faculties are constantly adapting their programmes and courses to meet the challenges of the future and to contribute to society as a whole.
