Attending the meeting, from Manchester Metropolitan University, there were Mr. Nigel Banister - Director of International Programs, Ms. Ta Hong Lien - Head of Education Services of British Council. From the UEB, there were Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Anh Thu - Vice Rector, Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Lan - Head of Academic Affairs, Center for International Training and Education, MA. Nguyen Duc Lam - Deputy Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development.
Manchester Metropolitan University is famous for its training in sports. The university is ranked No.50 in the world for training of sports, sport management and culture. During the meeting, leaders of the two universities expected to undertake the joint training programs in sport named Sport Management. Development of joint training program with degrees awarded by Vietnam National University, Hanoi and MMU provides the online course were also discussed in details.
Mr. Nigel Banister said, Vietnamese are passionate about sport, especially football. However, there is no center providing professional sport management. The graduates from this program will make great contribution for this sector of the country. He expected the two sides can reach a consensus and implement the program in the coming time.
