The year 2022 celebrates the 77th anniversary of the Korean National Day (August 15, 1945 to August 15, 2022), and the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea. On this occasion, VNU University of Economics and Business, Hanoi in collaboration with other universities, organizations, and companies in Vietnam and Korea organized "Vietnam - Korea Economic and Trade Forum 2022" towards the following goals:
- To promoting comprehensive economic and trade cooperation in association with education and training, science and technology, environmental protection and climate change response between Vietnam and Korea.
- To connect trade, service and investment partners of Vietnam and Korea.
- To assess the current situation and to seek solutions for the removal of technical barriers to international trade; and to provide scientific arguments, policy, financial, technical and social solutions towards the goal of promoting green growth and sustainable development in Vietnam and Korea.
Date (tentative): October 2022 (Monday)
Conference venue: VNU University of Economics and Business, Hanoi (onsite, combined with online flatform)
Outcomes:
A textbook titled “Economic and trade cooperations between Vietnam and Korea in the 21st century toward green growth and sustainable development” (in English) will be published in English by the Vietnam National University Publishing. The book is edited by Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Truc Le, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen An Thinh (VNU University of Economics and Business, Hanoi, Vietnam) và Prof.Dr. Lee Keunjae (Pusan National University, Busan, Korea).
We welcome experts, researchers, scholars, and practitioners to contribute chapters for the book on (but not limited to) the following topics:
Part 1. Vietnam – Korea international trade and investment: economic and trade relations, diplomatic relations, international trade, international investment, Vietnam-Korea Free Trade Agreement (VKFTA), monetary policy, creative economy, COVID-19, etc.
Part 2. Green growth and innovations in Vietnam and Korea: Carbon market policy, emission trading mechanism, non-traditional security, climate-resilient smart agriculture, etc.
Part 3. Educational, cultural, and sports cooperation between Vietnam and Korea: cultural exchange: Vietnamese culture in Korea and Korean culture in Vietnam, educational/cultural/sport economics, studying abroad and labor export, etc.

- Deadline for submission of full-text chapters: July 10, 2022
- Deadline for peer-review, edit, proof-read, and final publication: September 20, 2022
