11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:  
- This is the first deeply-academic and systematic study of the local knowledge on the usage and management of natural resources of the Muong people in Ba Thuoc district, Thanh Hoa province, which reflects the remain and transformation of the traditional society.
- The research result of this dissertation helps highlight the knowledge system of the Muong people in the usage and management of natural resources, depicts the picture of the socio-economic and cultural life of the Muong people in Ba Thuoc among the other ethnics in Vietnam; and contributes more scientific evidences for the usage of natural resources in the contemporary society.   
- The dissertation provides additional data on the local knowledge of the Muong people which serves as a scientific foundation for the state strategies and policies on sustainable economic and social development, rural management and the preservation of traditional culture during the process of the country’s industrialization and modernization. 
12. Practical applicability: This dissertation is significant for the teaching and research of agricultural ethnology and the Muong’s local knowledge and provides good reading materials for the teaching of the relevant subjects.
13. Further research directions: research of local knowledge of the Vietnamese and the other Southeast Asian communities.
