- The thesis is the first in-depth systematic research on changes in socio-economy of the Laha in the Lot village, It Ong commune, Muong La district before and after the Renovation, especially after the resettlement in Nam Khao village, Tan Lap commune, Moc Chau district, Son La province.)
- Contributing data for comparative research on the Laha in other regions and other ethnic minorities in the area.
- The thesis not only provides information of changes in socio-economy of the Laha but also practically contributes experience in planning ethnic minorities’ policy generally in ethnic culture conservation, especially with small population ethnic groups that easily are affected by those policies.
