- A detailed description of the four major phases of alexandrine in the twentieth century: 1900 - 1932; 1932 - 1945; 1945 - 1975; 1975 - 2000 on the on aspects of the authors, the main themes, the main achievements and typical authors for each stage.

- List artistic innovations by presenting specific variations in in terms of words, accents, tone, rhythm of alexandrine.

- Describe in detail the structures of a alexandrine, such as the structure of storytelling, continuity, conversation... and the artistic renewal of those structures in the alexandrine in 20th century compared to those of the previous period.

- Analyze a number of major artistic measures in alexandrine of 20th century, such as such as Kieu practices, use of histories, playing on words, ... thereby highlighting the achievements in the artistic innovation of the alexandrine of poets in the 20th century.

- Explain and analyze some of the modes of art such as the mode of familyization, the mode of grandism, the mode of lullaby, the mode of opposition, the mode of heroism in the construction of three typical alexandrine icons in the 20th century: Ho Chi Minh, mothers, and soldiers.
