11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- The dissertation contributes to clarify the situation of Russian's policies towards ASEAN in the period from 2000 to 2014 from domestic and foreign authors. Through these constructions, the readers can visualize how to create the issues related to Russia's foreign policies towards ASEAN in the period of the study, the strong and weak point of these policies.

- The thesis clarifies the theoretical and practical basement of Russia’s policies towards ASEAN in the period 2000-2014, including theoretical issues on policies, theoretical basis and practical basis leading to the formation of the policy.

- The thesis analyzes the content and implementation of Russian's policies towards ASEAN in the research period, including general policies and policies in specific fields (politics and security, national defense, economics, technology, education, tourism,...)

- The dissertation makes assessments about policies and policy implementation process, what has been done and not yet done, and the causes of those limitations. From there, the author presents scenarios of Russia’s policies towards ASEAN as well as the impact of these policies on the region. Each scenario is based on practical grounds and will have different impacts on the socio-political-economic situation of the two sides.

- The thesis offers recommendations to help promote the effectiveness of Russia’s foreign policies applied to ASEAN in general and Vietnam in particular, as well as to strengthen and promote the comprehensive strategic cooperation between Russia and Vietnam
