11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
Firstly, the thesis systematizes and clarifies the theoretical and practical contents on marketization of payment for environmental services.
Secondly, the thesis studies experiences of the leading country: United States and the country with many similarities with Vietnam: China in marketizing of payments for environmental services to withdraw lessons learned that Vietnam can apply.
Thirdly, the thesis provides an analytical framework and criteria to assess the level of marketization of payments for environmental services in Vietnam from 2011 to 2018 to find out the problems and their causes. The implementation of marketization of payment for environmental services in Vietnam is still limited in terms of institutions, policies and perceptions of the people and authorities at all levels. As result, giving solutions to promote the marketization of payment for environmental services in Vietnam in the coming time.
Fourthly, thesis is the first research project on marketization of payment for environmental services in Vietnam.
12. Practical applicability:
- Studies of the current situation in the thesis will be a testament to the process of marketization of payment for environmental services in Vietnam.
- The solutions proposed by the thesis will be a useful reference for lawmakers in the process of setting up the market of environmental services in Vietnam.
13. Further research directions:
- Studying the willingness and ability to pay of beneficiaries of environmental services.
- Studying and proposing solutions to build the perfect market of marine environment services.
