11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- The thesis provides assessments on features of the regional multilateral defense cooperation and its contributions to the security structure and context of the Asia - Pacific region.

- The thesis analyzes the establishment and development of the multilateral defense cooperation mechanisms in Asia - Pacific, either official and non-official ones and anticipate possible scenarios of their development in the future.

- The thesis reviews overall Vietnam's participation in the regional multilateral defense cooperation - a new and sensitive field of cooperation for Vietnam - including strengths and weaknesses; opportunities and challenges to Vietnam's integration into the region and the World in terms of defense cooperation.

- The thesis discusses recommendations of feasible measures that the Ministry of Defense in particular, and the Communist Party in general, can take to promote outcomes of its participation in the regional multilateral defense cooperation in the coming times.

12. Practical applicability, if any:

- The thesis may be used for further study in field of general defense cooperation and multilateral defense cooperation in particular of concerned bodies.

- The thesis would make an additional contribution to improve People Army of Vietnam's oficial, officers and personnel’s awareness to multilateral defense cooperation in times of Vietnam's international integration.

- The thesis suggests a number of measures to realize objectives of the Party, the State and the People Army of Vietnam' guidelines and policy for upgrading multilateral defense cooperation in coming years.
