VNU seeks cooperation opportunities with Russian universities
On February 27, 2019, VNU President Nguyen Kim Son had a working session with delegations from Russian universities.

 


 

These are the institutions under the long-term project "Russian universities" to enhance Russian-Vietnamese cooperation in the field of education. The 17 universities under this project on the working visit to Vietnam include: The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration, Russian State Hydrometeorological University, National Research Tomsk State University, Far Eastern Federal University, the National University of Science and Technology, Saint–Petersburg Mining University, Moscow State University of Civil Engineering, Southern Federal University, Moscow State Linguistic University, Tomsk Polytechnic University,  Volgograd State University, Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov, Ivanovo Power Engineering Institute, Moscow Aviation Institute, Tula State University,  and Kazan Federal University.

Speaking at the meeting, VNU President Nguyen Kim Son believed that the working visit of the Russian leading universities and the Russian Centre for Science and Culture in Hanoi would enhance cooperation in education as well as open new cooperation prospects.

Reviewing the cooperation activities between VNU's members and the Russian partners, VNU President suggested that in the coming time, the institutions of the two sides focus on the mutual interest training and research. He also suggested that, in addition to the cooperation in the areas of language, culture, and society, the parties expand cooperation to the fields of technology, aerospace, renewable energy as well as promote bilateral cooperative projects within the framework of the Protocol between Vietnam and the Russian Federation.

 

 

At the working session, the Russian universities and VNU units introduced their strengths and cooperation priorities with an emphasis on the implementation of joint training and research programs; training staff and faculty; staff and students exchanges.

In September, 2018, during his visit to Russia, attending the FEFU’s Science and Training Council open meeting, VNU President Nguyen Kim Son was conferred FEFU’s Honorary Doctor Degree. VNU and FEFU also signed an extension of the bilateral cooperation agreement. Among various cooperation suggestions, the two universities agreed to open FEFU’s representative office based at VNU University of Languages and International Studies and VNU’s representative office based at FEFU.

On December 10, 2018, VNU held the launching ceremony of the Far Eastern Federal University’s (FEFU) representative office based at VNU University of Languages and International Studies.
