11. Summary of the new findings of thesis:

The thesis studies about occupational succession across family generations in Thanh Hoa city in three aspects: succession of occupational position, succession of experience - professional skills and succession of occupational value. The qualitative and quantitative studies show that the succession of occupational position tends to decrease over generations time by time, while experience, occupational skills and occupational value are continually succeeded in all occupational groups. Besides, prestigious occupations tend to be proatively succeeded while ordinary occupations are passively taken over.

The change of occupational structure through generation is one of elements that influences occupational succession across family members; nevertheless, it is not the most crucial one. Family origin and individual factor also impact career succession amongst family generations.
