The thesis is a specialized work that researches spiritual culture in contemporary Vietnamese novels.

The thesis identifies spiritual factors, especially by pointing out the type of spiritual characters on the basis of clarifying the relationship between spiritual cultural life and social life in contemporary Vietnamese novels.

The thesis affirms the achievements and contribution of spiritual culture in contemporary Vietnamese novels in the aspects of contents and art, and thereby it reflects the variability, development, and innovation of contemporary Vietnamese novels in the context of strong changes and reintegration of Vietnamese literature with the world literature in the period after 1986.
