11. Summary of the new findings of the dissertation:

Basically, the dissertation achieved the following results:

- Generalizing the situation of society, economy, politics and religion in Thuan Quang after the separation between Dang Trong and Dang Ngoai. The Nguyen Lords’ administration was one of the important factors determining the development and significant influence of Buddhism in Thuan Quang.

- Describing the appearance of Thuan Quang’s Buddhist literature in the 17th – 18th centuries in terms of composing workforce, genre system, linguistic system and reflective themes.

- In the comparison with literature of Dang Ngoai and Southern literature in accordance with the synchronic analysis; the comparis on with Thuan Quang’s literature according to the diachronic analysis, the dissertation has presented special characteristics of Thuan Quang’s Buddhist literature in the 17th – 18th centuries in terms of the ideological contents and the genres; for example, the proceeding along with the intermediate role of Thuan Quang’s Buddhist literature, the integration of thoughts, poetic concepts and the tendency of bringing daily life to Buddhist literature ...

- In terms of geographical-cultural research, the dissertation has explained the influence of socio-cultural life on literary works and vice versa, clarifying the elements of identity, specificity and characteristics of the regional culture.

- The dissertation could be used as a reference in the research and teaching of literature and Buddhology. It would be significant to the research works on Buddhist literature in Vietnamese literature.
