11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis

- In addition to building a theoretical framework of lexicon, lexical meanings, lexical-semantic fields, the phenomenon of transforming fields, the thesis also defines the concept of "lyrics", "revolutionary songs" to identify and accurately select the materials surveyed. In particular, the thesis presents and explains its own point of view on "symbolic meaning" to serve as a research basis.

- The thesis surveyed 175 revolutionary songs in the period 1945-1975 and obtained 2,583 words used with a total of 13,897 times and separated into 8 lexical-semantic fields; showed the hierarchy, interference, distributional characteristics, semantic function of words in each field.

- The thesis listed 826 words with the lexical-semantic field transformed with a total frequency of 2,650 appearances; discovered and specifically pointed out metaphor and metonymy were two typical means of transforming meaning, which lead to the lexical-semantic field transformation of words; analyzed and explained the ability to express the meaning of a word in the new lexical – semantic field transformed.

- The thesis analyzed and specifically described every symbolic meaning of four typical words with high frequency of use as literary aesthetic signals - that is: lòng (tấm lòng) (heart (heart)), đường (road), mùa xuân (spring), lửa (fire); analyzed the influencing factors, the mechanism of forming the symbolic meaning and the unique and specific points of the words used in the revolutionary songs in the period 1945 - 1975.

- The thesis has pointed out the typical characteristics of the lexicons- semantics, the content of reflection, the image of the central character in the Vietnamese revolutionary songs in the period 1945 - 1975. In particular, the thesis has pointed out factors affecting cognitive characteristics, the way of life expression, especially the artistic tactics depicting Vietnamese people in revolutionary songs in the period 1945 - 1975.

12. Practical applicability: The research results of the thesis can be used as a reference for learning, researching or teaching Vietnamese in schools; a useful reference material for musicians and singers to improve the quality of language use in song creation and performance; is a useful document for teaching music composition theory, music criticism; vocal teaching techniques in schools, music institutes, and cultural and arts centers throughout the country.

13. Further research directions: Research on language in Vietnamese revolutionary songs in the period 1945 - 1975 in terms of phonetics, pragmatics and grammar.
