Creative innovation-oriented teaching and learning to enhance students’ adaptability to the labour market

The innovation of teaching common courses is implemented according to the Project on “Renovating training management of common modules at VNU”, creating favourable conditions for students to choose subjects suitable to their plans and time. The project "Renovating internship and practicum in training to increase VNU students’ employability" has been implemented in such a way that students can have their internships in localities and enterprises, encouraging students to get acquainted early with the professional requirements of the labour market and improve their employability upon graduation.

Regarding innovation as their survival and development in the current context, VNU's training units actively implemented the academic year’s key tasks as well as those for the 2020-2025 period. In fact, several units have already innovated their teaching activities by applying advanced teaching technologies (online lecturing, blended leaning technology, digitized exercises and documents, etc.);  increased practice and investment in modern laboratories; built interdisciplinary and inter-institutional training programs; taken advantage of international partners to innovate teaching activities and training programs; linked training with research and built research groups; strengthened cooperation with businesses; built subject websites (in 2019, VNU University of Languages and International Studies completed and put into use 30 subject websites); upgraded the existing modules to a higher level and in accordance with reality (VNU University of Economics and Business adjusted 64 course outlines of undergraduate and master’s training curricula); built new modules to offer from the 2020 - 2021 academic year (VNU University of Languages and International Studies); strengthened cooperation with enterprises to enable students to take internships lasting from 1 month to 1 semester; many training units have been developing LMS software for conducting and managing online training and teaching activities in the 2020-2021 academic year to cope with the Covid-19 pandemic and gradually move to partial online training.
