Online review for BJS Internship 1

On June 2, 2021, BJS made an online review and closing ceremony for Internship 1 activities. in the speech made by Takio Yamada, Ambassador of Japan to Viet Nam included the passage: “I think a number of "seedings" have been delivered to your mind after these activities. It may be just a new discovery, a curiosity, an interest, an enjoyment. But I want you to carefully nurture the seed."

Internship I activities which consisted of 15 activittes were conducted in the duration from March 4 to June 3, 2021 as a commemoration of Prime Minister Suga Yoshihide's visit to VJU last year. Those were lectures given by visiting politicians, diplomats, businessmen of Viet Nam and Japan in combination of field trips to Japanese factories in Viet Nam. Participants of those activities are 1st year students of BJS.

For the first time, such a series of practical activities for first-year students organized comes out as a success as in expectation with the support from JICA, Japan Embassy in Viet Nam and the stakeholders. The efforts of teachers and stakeholders were received with emotions and good impressions from BJS students.

Some students' feedbacks about Internship 1:

Kieu Thu: “During 14 weeks of studying Internship, Mr. Nguyen Thanh My's lecture on digital transformation has left a great impression on me. His company is currently developing automation techniques and artificial intelligence applications in the shrimp farming industry. I was surprised to see that Viet Nam can also manufacture advanced machines like Japan. If these techniques are widely applied across the country, it is likely that production costs will be reduced, the profits of shrimp farmers will increase and the country's economy will also rapidly develop.

This year's internship gave me a deep awareness of the professions that I was very vague about before, and it was a very valuable experience that helped me consider my future career. I hope that I will be able to apply the knowledge I have been taught in VJU later in life. I will make my best to contribute to the country, as well as strengthen the friendship between Viet Nam and Japan."

Trang Thuong: “I think all the lessons have been very helpful to us. I was extremely happy as a first-year student at the school and had great experiences that I could share with friends who had the same passion as me. I look forward to the upcoming lessons and the next trip.”

Quang Duy: “It can be said that very few universities in Viet Nam give students an opportunity to study practical modules from the first year. But at VJU, we had that opportunity to learn practical knowledge from a very early stage. It is an approval that VJU always tries to implement the liberal art education that it has declared. Not only providing in-depth expertise and broad knowledge, the course also allows us to talk and communicate with leading experts, corporate owners, large business owners and people in high positions. Those made VJU's Internship unique, no other university can build similar classes.”

My Hang: “I was most impressed with Mr. Takebe Tsutomu's saying, 'Don't be afraid of failure. Set a big goal for yourself.” At the age of 20s in our life, before many choices, the words of Mr. Takebe and other speakers did inspire and motivate me. It seems that it's time for me to step out of my comfort zone, dare to dream big and strive to do my best to make my dreams come true...

Activities in Intership 1 have provided the necessary background knowledge in the new era, broadening my horizons. Through company visits, I began to learn about companies and their recruitment requirements to make good preparations for myself.”
