VNU President Le Quan and MOLISA Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung co-chaired the workshop.

The workshop was organized to create a forum to connect educational administration agencies, higher education institutions, vocational education institutions, organizations, corporations, businesses, experts and scientists together to discuss, share experiences and solutions for developing training programs in Engineering – Technology to meet the demand for high-quality human resources in the context of Industry 4.0.

VNU President Le Quan said that the workshop directly contributed to VNU's strategy of developing training disciplines and majors. The promotion of Engineering - Technology disciplines would contribute to promoting the strengths of VNU’s multi-disciplinary model. He said, in the coming time, VNU would give priority to training human resources in Engineering and Technology to meet the needs of Labor market 4.0, with the target of 25% of the student body.

VNU President Le Quan stated that the workshop was an opportunity for the delegates to discuss new industries, contexts, trends and some of the issues raised when promoting training in Engineering – Technology. These disciplines must aim to meet the needs of businesses as well as human resources in the international market.

VNU wishes to promote comprehensive cooperation with the General Directorate of Vocational Training and high quality colleges to develop human resource and effectively implement technical and technological training programs based on the advantages and resources of each party to meet the needs of the labour market in the current digital transformation period; thereby, contributing to building a learning society to meet the need of lifelong learning.

MOLISA Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung said that the development of digital economy in Industry 4.0 required rapid adaptation of human resources equipped with knowledge, professional skills and technology. He believed that promoting the linkage between vocational education and higher education was very important in training human resources to meet the needs of the labour market.

Appreciating the significance of this workshop, Deputy Minister Le Tan Dung expected VNU’s leaders, managers, and scientists with a leading role in Vietnam's education system and the MOLISA with its management role in vocational education to exchange, discuss and offer solutions to develop technical and technological human resources; fulfill the national responsibilities of the two sides with the mission of training high-quality and highly-qualified human resources, fostering talents to contribute to the construction, development and defense of the country.

On this occasion, VNU International School signed a cooperation agreement with three colleges to pilot training programs according to Australian and German standards.
