11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
As a corpus-based study comparing the logico-semantic relations in English and Vietnamese, the study makes some significant typological contributions to the theory on the logico-semantic relations in three big ways:
The first contribution is reorganizing and adapting the existing frameworks to build up the modified analytical frameworks of projection and expansion in clause complexes, which are more applicable to the description of different languages in the sense that they are less delicate and less Anglo-centric than the existing frameworks.
