VNU's pioneering and innovative training models continue to receive positive feedback from learners and society

VNU has increased the number of interdisciplinary training programs to provide high quality human resources with interdisciplinary thinking and intelligence for the country’s key economic sectors. Bachelor of pedagogy training Model (3 + 1), General practitioner training Model (2 + 4), and Pharmacist training Model (2 + 3) have been effectively implemented. Dual degree training models among VNU’s training units help graduates concurrently earn 2 full-time bachelor degrees with in-depth professional knowledge together with good English ability, which enables them to work in an internationally competitive environment and increases their employability. The common subjects teaching model for Foreign Languages, Political Theory, Physical Education, Security-National Defence was radically renewed to ensure unity and high specialization. VNU’s specialized high schools continued to affirm their national top reputation in talent training and young scientific talent discovery.

In order to create and spread sustainability for innovating teaching activities, with the support of the Irish Embassy in Vietnam and in collaboration with UCD Innovation Academy, VNU has been implementing the VIBE project on “Building capacity of academic staff members and senior leaders at Vietnam National University, Hanoi by entrepreneurial approach to foster 21st century skills and attributes in students”. In addition to individuals’ abilities to apply their own knowledge and skills to their teaching activities, through the VIBE Project, a community of entrepreneurial educators was formed at VNU (Entrepreneurial Educators - EE).

The training activities within the Project received very positive feedback from the trainees. Even during the learning process, some trainees were already able to apply their newly-learned knowledge, skills, methods, tools, activities, etc. to their teaching and saw initial changes in their students. In their evaluations of the Project’s training activities and future action plans, the trainees expressed their intention and desire to apply the learned knowledge and skills for a long term to improve the quality of training and students’ skills as well as expand the community of entrepreneurial educators to help improve their colleagues’ teaching capacity.
