VNU - VJU: MGL's students and lecturers visited IMF office in Viet Nam

On 27th January 2021, MGL lecturers and students had a visit to International Monetary Fund (IMF) Office in Viet Nam. This is one of the internship activities for MGL's students to update their knowlegde about globalization, international economic cooperation, and the work of IMF as an international organization, especially at the Covid time.

Mr. Francois Painchaud - Resident Representative Vietnam introduced to MGL students about work and mission of IMF. The organization has the mission to ensure the stability if the monetary system all over the world. They implement that in three ways: keeping track of economies, lending to countries, and providing technical assistance to members. 

Representative of IMF also shared with lecturers and students of MGL about the role of IMF and its projects in the member states, especially in the situation that the world is facing in Covid-19. In the year 2020, more than half of member states borrowed money from IMF to stabilize their economies. MGL students raised their questions and received explanation of Mr. Francois Painchaud on how IMF cooperates with other international organizations to support states, technical assistance of IMF in Viet Nam, and the solutions to improve transparency for projects funded by IMF, etc.
