Three VNU’s education projects granted by Ireland
In 2022, VNU receives valuable grants from the Embassy of Ireland for 3 education projects, 2 of which are new projects proposed by VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy and VNU University of Engineering and Technology in collaboration with their Irish partners. The third one is the continuation of fruitful partnership between VNU and University College Dublin.

Specifically, the 3 projects are as follows:

- Leading a culture of innovation and preparing for a sustainable innovation ecosystem across higher education in Vietnam led by VNU and Innovation Academy, University College Dublin;

- Pathology of diabetes lesion treated by cold atmospheric plasma in combination with exosomes isolated from mesenchymal stem cells led by VNU University of Medicine and Pharmacy and School of Medicine, University College Dublin;

- Development of a multifunction and automated platform for on-chip oocyte maturation and monitoring led by VNU University of Engineering and Technology and School of Physical Science, Dublin City University.

VNU Vice President Pham Bao Son emphasized that Irish institutions had become strategic partners of VNU and one of the most effective international projects implemented by VNU in collaboration with Innovation Academy (UCD) with the support of the Irish Embassy was the training course "Innovative Educators".

He expected that the Agreement signing ceremony would become a vivid symbol of the promising partnership between VNU and the Embassy of Ireland in particular and Irish partners in general.

Ambassador of Ireland to Vietnam John McCullagh also emphasized the desire of the Irish Government and Embassy to replicate training models in innovative education throughout Vietnam, in which VNU would play the role of a model of success in the field.

Except for the project “Pathology of diabetes lesion treated by cold atmospheric plasma in combination with exosomes isolated from mesenchymal stem cells” which is to be implemented in 18 months, up to 2024, the other two would be completed within 1 year, from November 2022.

From 2018 to 2019, with the support of the Irish Embassy in Vietnam and in collaboration with the University College Dublin Innovation Academy (Ireland), VNU implemented Phase 1 of the VIBE project on “Building capacity of academic staff members and senior leaders at Vietnam National University, Hanoi by entrepreneurial approach to foster 21st century skills and attributes in students”. From 2020 to June 2022, VNU implemented VIBE Phase 2 on “Leading and Embedding a Culture of Innovation across Higher Education: Preparing for the 4th Industrial Revolution”. VNU held a closing ceremony of Phase 2 of VIBE Project on July 15, 2022.
