The 2016 Vietnam Symposium on Banking and Finance (VSBF-2016)
The 2016 Vietnam Symposium on Banking and Finance (VSBF-2016), jointly organized by the Association of Vietnamese Scientists and Experts in France (AVSE), VNU International School and the International Society for the Advancement of Financial Economics (ISAFE), took place on November 17-18, 2016 in Hanoi.

VSBF-2016 was one of the major activities of the International Scholars Exchange Program based at VNU International School. Attending the conference were nearly 80 participants including leading experts in banking and finance, professors and researchers from many prestigious universities of such nations as Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Japan, the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Vietnam, the United States of America, etc. Seventy-six out of the 160 submitted papers were selected for presentation at the conference.

The conference aimed to bring academics, researchers, experts and policymakers together to share their research findings and discuss the current state, challenges and prospects in banking and finance. The Symposium was also an ideal occasion for Vietnamese scholars to exchange their research experiences and develop research projects with their international colleagues.

The main topics of the conference were as follows: Asset pricing and allocation; Banking regulation and financial services; Corporate governance; Corporate finance; IPOs, SEOs, M&A; National investment funds and hedge funds;  Emerging markets finance; Financial regulation;  Financial crises and contagion; Financial engineering and derivatives; Financial markets, institutions and money; Global imbalances and sustainability; Market behavior and efficiency; Multinational financial management; Portfolio management and optimization, and Risk management.
