Major achievements in training

In 2020, VNU expected to recruit 10,420 undergraduates for 133 undergraduate majors, of which, 15 programs were newly opened to meet the human resource requirements of the labour market in the digital transformation. Statistically, more than 41% of the 11,800 freshmen this academic year enrolled in high-quality training programs.

In the context of increasing competition in graduate training, in order to both attract candidates and maintain the training quality, VNU continued to issue policies for attracting and supporting learners as well as improving training quality.

Innovating teaching activities is an urgent task not only for the 2019 – 2020 academic year but also for the 2020 - 2025 period. In the past year, VNU’s members developed plans to innovate their teaching activities and implemented them by issuing the student guide, introducing new teaching technologies, inviting experts to train VNU managers and lecturers, building a set of criteria for evaluating teaching innovation, etc.

Also in 2020, contestants from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students won numerous regional and international medals including 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal at regional and international Olympiads in Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, Biology. Students from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students have always been the core of Vietnam’s regional and international Olympic teams gaining many prideworthy achievements. To date, they have won 220 medals including 65 gold medals, 81 silver medals and 74 bronze medals.
