11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
- The dissertation provides with a brief history of the rise and development of Buddhism as a world religion. It also gives a short presentation of Buddhist sutra, through which the author tries to argue for the characteristics of the engagement of Buddhism as nature of this religion.’
- The dissertation reproduces the historical relationship between the monarchial state of the Ly and Tran dynasties and Buddhism, focusing on the following issues:
+ Clarifying the historical context and the contents of policies towards Buddhism of the two dynasties.
+ Clarifying the historical development of Buddhism under the Ly and the Tran dynasties, including the development of different Buddhist schools and sub-schools and sangha.
+ Evaluating the multiple contributions of Buddhism to the national building in the Ly – Tran era.
- Based on the research results the author also tries to draw out some valuable historical lessons and experiences for the reform of the country today.
12. Practical applicability, if any:
- The results of this study can be used as referent materials for training programs at the Vietnamese Academy of Buddhism and other universities.
- The results of this study can be used an input source for policy making process concerning religion and particularly Buddhism in Vietnam. 
13. Further research directions, if any:
- Further studies on history of Vietnamese Buddhism in other historical periods in the context of history of Buddhism in Southeast Asia.
- Further studies on state policies towards religions in general and towards Buddhism in particular of various historical times.
