Latest methodologies and developments in teaching English at universities
On the occasion of the 40th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Australia and Vietnam, a delegation of ten member institutions from University English Centers Australia (UECA) visited Hanoi on February 28, 2013.

The Australian Trade Commission, Australian Embassy collaborated with MOET’s National Foreign Languages 2020 Project and Vietnam National University, Hanoi to organize the workshop entitled “Vietnam-Australia: Latest methodologies and developments in teaching English at universities”, which included English demonstration classes for Vietnamese teachers and students.
Mr. Hugh Borrowman – Australian Ambassador to Vietnam, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Kim Sơn – VNU Vice President as well as representatives from Vietnamese and Australian universities and colleges attended the workshop.
Through the workshop, Vietnamese universities and colleges had a chance to meet with UECA members to share experiences and explore partnership opportunities in management programs, teaching methodologies, research skills development, and English language teacher training.
Speaking at the workshop, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Kim Sơn hoped for new cooperation potentials between UECA and Vietnamese universities in general and VNU in particular, and believed in the significant contribution of the workshop to improving the efficiency of English language teaching in Vietnam.
