Building the cooperation plan with University of Houston-Clear Lake
In the morning of June 6, 2013, VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ had a meeting with the delegation of University of Houston-Clear Lake led by Dr.Zbigniew Czajkiewic – Rector of School of Science and Computer Engineering.

Also attended the meeting were Prof.Dr. Hoàng Quang Thuận – Director of Institute of Telecom Technology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology; representatives of VNU functional departments, VNU University of Engineering and Technology, VNU School of Business, and VNU Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy.
The University of Houston–Clear Lake (UHCL) is a state university founded in 1971, with an enrollment of more than 8.000 students. UHCL offers nearly 40 bachelors, 44 masters, and one doctoral program. The University of Houston–Clear Lake (UHCL) is one of four separate and distinct institutions in the University of Houston System. The institution is separately accredited, offers its own academic programs and confers its own degrees, and has its own administration. The university is organized into four academic schools: the School of Business, the School of Human Sciences and Humanities, the School of Science and Computer Engineering, and the School of Education. It is noted that UHCL’s online MBA program has been ranked as one of Top 10 Best Buys in AACSB Accredited Online MBAs for 2010 by GetEducated.com.
At the meeting, the two universities discussed detailed cooperation activities, including the 2+2 training program on Information Technology and Engineering, students exchange in the field of Computer Science.
VNU President Phùng Xuân Nhạ suggested to discuss specific issues in some potential fields for the effective cooperation between the two sides in the short-term, for instance the training program on Computer Science and students exchange activities, especially the international-class training programs taught in English, then expand the cooperation to other fields in the long-term. VNU President asked VNU UET to make a cooperation plan in the field of computer science.
