11. Summary of the new finding of the thesis:
- Two new compounds of hepta-O-acetyl-b-lactosyl and hepta-O-acetyl-b-maltosyl thiosemicarbazides have been synthesized by reaction of corresponding isothiocyanates with hydrazine hydrate in dichloromethane.
- From precursors of hepta-O-acetyl-β-lactosyl thiosemicarbazide and hepta-O-acetyl-β-maltosyl thiosemicarbazide have been synthesized 32 new compounds of hepta-O-acetyl-b-lactosyl thiosemicarbazones of substituted acetophenones and substituted benzaldehydes and 37 new compounds of hepta-O-acetyl-b-maltosyl thiosemicarbazones of substituted acetophenones and substituted benzaldehydes using microwave-assisted heating method by reaction of corresponding thiosemicarbazides with substituted acetophenones and substituted substituted benzaldehydes in presence of glacial acetic acid catalyst in absolute ethanol.
- Influences of four solvents (ethanol, toluene, dichloromethane and chloroform), 3 oraganic base catalysts (triethylamine, DABCO and anhydrous sodium acetate) and heating methods (conventional heating and microwave-assisted heating) on reaction of hepta-O-acetyl-β-maltosyl thiosemicarbazone with ethyl bromoacetate, and it’s shown that this reaction doesn’t take place in polar protic solvent (ethanol) and apolar solvent (toluen), and in the presence of catalysts, such as triethylamine and và DABCO. The reaction takes place when anhydrous sodium acetate in chloroform is used and the microwave-assisted heating method is most suitable one and gives highest yields.
- In optimal conditions, new 13 compounds of2-iminothiazolidin-4-one have been synthesized from hepta-O-acetyl-b-lactosyl thiosemicarbazones of substituted acetophenones and substituted benzaldehydes and new 19 compounds of 2-iminothiazolidin-4-one from hepta-O-acetyl-b-maltosyl thiosemicarbazones of substituted acetophenones and substituted benzaldehydes. The reaction products are or 2-iminothiazolidin-4-one (5) or isomeric pair 5/5’ depending on substituents in benzene ring and on carbohydrate moiety. Isomeric retios 5/5’ estimated using 1H NMR spectra are from 86/14 to 57/43 (%).
- The structure of obtained products have been confirmed using spectroscopic methods (IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR, 2D-NMR HSQC và HMBC and mass spectra). It’s shown that the chemical shifts of protons NH-2 and NH-4, and carbon atom in azomethine/imine groups have a linear regression relationships with Hammett’s s constants.
- The biological activities of series of compounds 4MA and 4MB have been estimated and the relationship between the structure and activity using Hansch’s model have been found for bacterial Gram-(-) Klebsiella pneumonia and Gram-(+) Staphylococcus epidermidis, antifungal Candida albicans.
- The free-radical scavenging activity for DPPH of 11 compounds of thiosemicarbazones has been estimated.
