VNU and Nagoya University: Promoting Multi-field Cooperation
On April 1, 2016, VNU Vice President Lê Quân welcomed and had a working session with his Nagoya University (Japan) counterpart Ichihashi Katsuya.

 

During the talks, VNU Vice President Lê Quân stressed that both Nagoya University and VNU were key multidisciplinary higher education centres of Japan and Vietnam respectively. This is favorable for the two universities to set up and organize multi-field activities not only in natural sciences, but also technology, social sciences, humanities and medicine.

VNU Vice President Lê Quân proposed Nagoya University to continue supporting the activities of VNU Vietnam-Japan University and those of the specialized research groups focusing on the two universities’ interdisciplinary strengths such as  technology, law and medicine. VNU also expects to promote staff, faculty and student exchanges, contributing to the enhancing of scientific exchange and training cooperation between the two universities.

 

 

Vice President Ichihashi Katsuya affirmed that the partnership with VNU was always a top priority of Nagoya University in Vietnam. Nagoya University is willing to share experience and support VNU  in the fields of natural sciences, law, hospital administration, Japanese language teaching, etc. and will further promote the bilateral cooperative activities.

VNU started its partnership with Nagoya University in 2012 based on the cooperation  and academic exchange agreement with a focus on student exchange.

Nagoya University is the 5th most prestigious university in Japan and ranks 231st  worldwide by Webometrics Ranking. Nagoya University has 3,806 staff and faculty (as of May 1, 2015), about 16,000 students, of those 2,200 are international students, accounting for 14%. There are 68 current Vietnamese students at Nagoya University.

Nagoya University offers 1,140 academic programs taught in English to facilitate students international integration. Nagoya University has 6 Nobel Prize-winning professors.
