Putting the partnership agreement with Kyoto University in Japan (VKCO) into practice
On January 26th, 2011, VNU Cooperation Office and the University of Kyoto (VKCO) have had an online meetings between members of the Steering Committee.

Attending the online meeting via the internet are Prof. Junichi Mori, Vice President of Kyoto University, Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang, Vice President of VNU, Dr. Shine Toshihiko (Kyoto University), PhD. Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, Dr. Ngo Minh Thuy (VNU). This is a working session to review the activities of VKCO in 2010 and discuss action plans and work plans in 2011.

Since its establishment in September 2010, VKCO has completed structure, stability and have held various activities to promote positive connections between Vietnamese students with Japanese universities; expand exchanges and cooperation between the two countries' universities. VKCO activities geared towards helping the learners understand Vietnamese education system, educational policy, learning conditions and quality of university education in Japan, helping the student enjoy the learning conditions of high quality education in Japan.

At the meeting, members have agreed on three major action programs in 2011 of VKCO: One is to develop the brand by promoting advocacy activities on the functions and role of VKCO, VNU and Kyoto University; distributing information about G30 programs and other cooperative programs between Japan and Vietnam in the fields of education and science. Two is to build and develop the network between VKCO and the member unit of VNU, University of Kyoto University in Japan and the G30. Three is to support and promote the cooperation program between the university VKCO with Vietnam and Japan, the G30 universities.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Vu Minh Giang has offered Kyoto University to participate in cooperative programs to training under the scheme 165 of Vietnamese Government in which VNU now is an active member with 3/7 joint training program that have been implemented in 2010. This proposal has received the agreement and support of Prof. Mori with the commitment that Kyoto University will try to understand and connect to VNU in cooperation with the plan.
