The success of the Temasek Foundation Specialists’ Community Action and Leadership Exchange (TF SCALE) virtual outbound programme in March 2021 hosted by VNU-IS has completely persuaded Temasek Foundation to remain committed to funding the TF SCALE in September 2021, co-organized between Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore and Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
On May 14th, 2021, Dr. Mai Nguyen Tuyet Hoa, Head of Office of Research and Partnership Development hosted an online meeting with Ms. Stella Thing, Programme Lead, and other colleagues from Student Development Office of NP to discuss about the September programme.
Due to the uncertainties of travelling as the Covid-19 pandemic continues to mutate, both parties have come to an agreement of organizing the September run as a 2-week virtual programme, to take place from 13-25 September 2021. This time, however, the aim is to have a more equal balance of Singapore and Vietnamese content, as this 2-week programme will serve as both the ‘in-bound’ and ‘out-bound’ trips for all participants.

At the meeting, representatives of both sides engaged in open discussion for tentative programme and timeframe, lecture topics as well as proposed outdoor learning activities, to-do list for the pre-programme week. In addition, both institutions shall consider a backup plan for all suggested activities in case the Covid-19 situation get worse and public gathering will be restricted.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the representatives have confirmed the action plan of both parties and arranged schedule for specific actions. It was also agreed that both parties will hold another meeting by the end of May to finalize the tentative plan as well as other planning for September run.
Hopefully, the TF SCALE hybrid programme in September 2021 will bring a fruitful and enriching experience for students of both institutions.
