11. Summary of the new finding of the thesis:

- Developing a high sensitivity method to quantify components of THSG, resveratrol (RES), picied (PC), EM and PS in Radix Fallopia multiflora using HPLC-FLD.

- Developing a simple and fast method to quantify the components of THSG, EM and PS in Radix Fallopia multiflora using TLC-scanner Densitometry.

-  Initially classifying the origin of Radix Fallopiae multiflorae based on chemical composition combined with chemometrics.

12. Practical application:

- Developed three methods to quantify main components in Radix Fallopia multiflora: HPLC/UV (reference method), TLC/SD and HPLC/FL. These methods have different advantages and scope of application, depending on the laboratory's facilities and testing objectives. However, all methods have the advantage of simplicity, so it can be widely applied in testing pharmaceuticals and herbal products.

- The results of quantifying the main active ingredients in 48 samples of Radix Fallopia multiflora have suggested the selection of marker for Radix Fallopia multiflora. These results provides useful information for the quality evaluation of Radix Fallopiae multiflorae in Vietnam.

13. Further research directions, if any:

- To continue evaluating the content of main components in many samples of Radix Fallopia multiflora from different regions to create the larger data matrix of chemical compositions, as a basis for traceability of Radix Fallopia multiflora in Vietnam.
