11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- The thesis has systematized the theoretical basis of research on bullying behaviors of secondary school students and parenting styles. On that basis, the thesis has clarified the concepts of bullying behavior, style, parenting styles and parental behaviors towards children such as support, psychological control, behavior control.

- Based on the previous research works, the thesis has selected, standardized and applied a set of tools to measure bullying behavior, parenting styles and the relationship between these two factors which meets the measurement tool design standards for the sample.

- The thesis has surveyed and assessed the status of bullying behaviors of secondary school students and parenting styles. The results show that the level of students being bullied is average. The most common form of bullying is verbal bullying, while the forms of physical and isolating bullying are low proportion.

- The thesis has pointed out the correlation between parents' openness in communication with their child and child's behaviors. The parent-child relationship is negatively correlated with the child's bullied behavior, bullying behavior and positively correlated with his child's prosocial behavior.

- Research findings also show that behavior control of parents are negatively correlated with bullying behavior and being bullied in their child. The degree of psychological control of parents is negatively correlated and statistically significant with the extent to which their children have prosocial behaviors.

- For parental neglect / neglect, psychological control is positively and strongly correlated with child being a victim of bullying and this correlation is statistically significant with high confidence.

12. Practical applicability, if any:

The dissertation's findings are a useful reference for the development of family-based bullying prevention programs.

13. Further research direction, if any:

Future studies of the thesis will assess the quality of the parental relationship, and the way parents communicate with their children may provide insight into the role of parents in their children’s bullying and bullied behavior.
