CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest accounting bodies with more than 160.000 members working in 125 countries. Their core services to members include education, training, knowledge exchange, technical support and advocacy. CPA Australia has a rich 130-year history of operation with more than 25.000 members holding significant leadership positions worldwide, such as CEO’s and CFO’s.
During the verification, Mr. Woolley interviewed representatives from VNU-IS’s leadership, the staff responsible for mentoring the program, lecturers and students. Also, in accordance with the inspection criteria, VNU-IS’s facilities were reviewed they include the library, computer lab and lecture halls. Mr. Woodley expressed his high regard for VNU-IS’s organizational structure and training acumen. As a result, he recognized that the aforementioned program met the requirements for CPA’s recognition of credit equivalency.
Mr. Woolley interviewed representatives from VNU-IS’s leadership, the staff responsible for mentoring the program, lecturers and students.
Thus, VNU-IS is the first academic institution in Vietnam to have its English-language Bachelor of Accounting program accredited and recognized by CPA Australia. Which means, students of VNU-IS’s Accounting, Analyzing and Auditing program will be exempted from 6 basic subjects when participating in the CPA Australia certificate program. Students will need to take only 12 courses before they can obtain this renowned certificate.
Previously, the ACCA has recognized the Business (Accounting) program between VNU-IS and HELP University, Malaysia, and students enrolled in the ACCA certificate program were exempted from 9 of the 14 required subject courses.
In 2016, VNU-IS and CPA Australia -Vietnam established their cooperative partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding. Thenceforth, both institutions have implemented a wide range of collaborative activities such as academic seminars for VNU-IS’s staff, lecturers and students; career orientation programs; academic support activities including soft skills development, career orientation and professional development seminars, etc. Hopefully, in the near future, VNU-IS and CPA Australia-Vietnam will continue to implement meaningful programs and activities in order to improve VNU-IS’s lecturers’ and students’ knowledge and professional qualifications.
