Attending the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Vũ Minh Giang - Chairman of VNU Science and Training Council; scientists collaborating with VNU SGS in training and designing program for Master Program students in Climate Change and Sustainable Science; Chairman Board and staffs of VNU SGS.
Interdisciplinary training, especially for the postgraduate training program has been an advanced trend which is considered as one of the pillars for VNU development. Since 2009, VNU has assigned VNU SGS with the tasks as a designing and training unit for interdisciplinary, inter-field postgraduate programs (including master and doctoral programs).
The Master Program on Climate Change was issued and handed to VNU SGS from the academic year 2011 – 2012 by VNU President. There have been four Master Courses in Climate Change so far, attracting many management agencies, educational and research institutions with 221 students. In the academic year 2014 - 2015, VNU SGS has started its enrolment for the first master course in Sustainable Science with 33 students.
Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Vũ Minh Giang remarked that in face with complex issues of climate change, VNU has assigned the VNU SGS with the task of designing the Master Programs in Climate Change and Sustainable Science.
In the academic year 2014 - 2015, VNU SGS has welcomed 59 students of Course IV of Master Program in Climate Change and 33 students of Course I of Master Program on Sustainable Science.
