11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

- Main results of the thesis: (i), consolidate and supplement the theoretical background on the relationship between free trade and human rights from the practice in Vietnam. (ii), the thesis has supplemented systematic and in-depth analysis and assessment of the achievements and limitations in handling the relationship between free trade and ensuring human rights in Vietnam. (iii), the thesis has provided opinions, proposed, and interpreted a system of solutions to take advantage of and resolve difficulties in ensuring human rights in the implementation of free trade agreements in Vietnam.

- The thesis is to sum up with following conclusions:

(i) The trend of attaching requirements of ensuring human rights to the states is increasing and clearly shown in the recent free trade agreements. Vietnam tend to accept the integration of human rights in trade agreements to support institutional reform in general but still give priority to get the commercial benefits.

(ii) Free trade agreements have a comprehensive impact on the social life of the country in general and for the guarantee of human rights in particular. In which, the key impact can be seen through the state's perception of human rights guarantee, changes in the law-making, and implementation of the law on human rights assurance.

(iii) The State of Vietnam - under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam - still shows its efforts in implementing the guarantee of human rights but seems to be confused, there is no strategic plan and mainly deal with arising specific cases. Vietnam needs to reconsider its opinion about economic-centered international integration. The State should pay more attention to limiting the need of state management to control the exercise of rights by setting clear rights limitations. The law building based on the human rights approach is a new trend that needs to be further studied.

12. Practical applicability, if any:  the research results of the thesis can be used as a reference for the Vietnam Communist Party, State agencies, especially the National Assembly and the Government, academic institutions, social organizations, and local government.

13. Further research directions, if any:  laws on ensuring human rights in the fields of state management.
