11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:

Main results of the thesis:

This thesis has a comprehensive, systematic and specialized research on the protection of women's human rights in the criminal justice in terms of access to the human rights-based approach considering women as victims of crimes and offenders (under The Vietnamese criminal law) or the victim and the accused, convicted (under The Vietnamese criminal procedure law).

Through studying the theory, academic literature and desk reviewing of policy papers, government documents as well as analyzing of international standards, this thesis has built a method to protect human rights of women through legal regulations in the criminal justice as well as identifying legal gaps to recommend improving the effectiveness of women's human rights protection in practice.

Based on the results of comprehensive research on the legal situation and practice of human rights protection of women in the last 10 years in Vietnam through the analysis of secondary data as well as 300 subjects survey in the judicial system who directly participate in the settlement of criminal cases and 300 judgments and case files with the accused or the victim are female; PhD candidate has proposed a complete orientation legal provisions as well as suggested some solutions to strengthen the protection of women's human rights  in Vietnam's criminal justice.

The new findings of the thesis:

In terms of reasoning: this study that systematically and comprehensively addresses theoretical and practical issues about the protection of women's human rights in the criminal justice field that can contribute to scientific evidence in the knowledge system about the protection of women's human rights.

In practical terms: The thesis contributes to the assessment of the practical application of Vietnam's criminal justice as well as recommendations to ensure the implementation and improve the effectiveness of regulations in terms of legal formulation and enforcement. 

Conclusions:

This thesis is a comprehensive, systematic and intensive research on the protection of women’s human rights in the criminal justice field that proposes to better improve the law system in Vietnam.

12. Practical applicability: This thesis also serves as a reference for researchers, lecturers and students in undergraduate and postgraduate training institutions specializing in criminal justice as well as providing scientific evidence and serves legislative activities in the crime prevention in Vietnam.

13. Further research directions: expand the scope of research on girls, adolescents or some other specific subjects.
