11. Summary of  the new findings of the thesis:

- The thesis is a systematic, general and adequate scientific research based on multi-disiplines approach and area studies for sustainable tourism development in the context of climate change in Quang Ninh Province.

- The thesis offers an analysis of natural conditions, natural and cultural tourism resources for tourism development of Quang Ninh Province.

- The thesis evaluates the sustainability of Quang Ninh Province’s tourism following categories/aspects of Economics, Society – Culture, Environment – Resources and each category includes 4 specific criteria.

- The thesis provides an overview of developments of climate elements, climate change scenarios, and potential impacts of climate change on Quang Ninh Province’s tourism, specifically tourism resources, tourism technical and infrastructure facilities, travel activities, tourist attractions, and adaptability of the local places.

- The thesis proposes packages of solutions for sustainable tourism development in climate change context, specifically solutions for mitigation of climate change impacts on tourism and those to sustainable tourism development with climate change adapbility in Quang Ninh Province.

12. Practical applicability, if any:

- The thesis can be an important data resource for governmental levels of tourism management and the companies operating in tourism field to pay special attention to the aims of sustainable tourism development in Quang Ninh Province in the context of accelerated climate change with all its complicated developments.

- The findings of the thesis can be used as a reference by undergraduate and graduate students who are working on or studying  on the sustainable tourism development in climate change context in the approaches of multi- displines and area studies.

Further research for criteria for quantitative assessment of tourism sustainability in Quang Ninh;

Inter-regional research (inner region and outer-regional connection in tourism development in terms of tourism types and products given climate change impacts);

Building models and application to tourism development practices to better cope with climate change in tourism for sustainable development.
