I. Hanoi Forum on ICT
1. Aims:
This forum is to bring together scientists, engineers, practitioners, managers, businessmen, government leaders, etc. from countries around the world to share knowledge and exchange their experiences, discuss the challenges, the opportunities, the solutions, the best practice/application models and the roadmap for the information and communication technology (ICT) development in Vietnam; especially on the Vietnam ICT human resources development and national ICT capability building. The forum"s aim is also to bring opportunities for participants to report on the state-of-the-art technology as well as on-going research on all aspects of the ICT from theory to practice, to promote academic-industrial links.
The ultimate aim is to make a worthy contribution to the development and application of ICT in Vietnam, thus contributing to Vietnams socio-economic development in the years to come and realizing the Vietnamese Governments most noble aim: to become an industrialized country by the 2020.
2. Objectives:
1) To identify the visions, directions, strategies, solutions, and roadmap for ICT development and ICT applications in Vietnam;
2) To forecast the ICT human resources needs, especially in the case Vietnam joins WTO;
3) To identify the visions, directions, strategies, solutions, programs for ICT human resources development and ICT capability building;
4) To provide a platform for scientists to share views and ideas from all sectors of information-communication technology;
5) To strengthen mutual understanding and cooperation in information-communication technology between Vietnam and other countries, especially Korea and regional ones;
6) To promote the study and development of information-communication technology in the Southeast Asia region and the world;
7) To contribute to the development and prosperity of the human beings.
