Training Workshop on Enhancement in Higher Education Quality Accreditation
On March 13, 2017, VNU Centre for Education Accreditation organized a training workshop on capacity enhancement for education accreditors in Vietnam in partnership with the British Council and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education – QAA.

Highly appreciating the cooperation and support from the British Council and QAA, VNU Vice President Nguyễn Hữu Đức stated that enhancing education quality assurance and accreditation had always been a focal task for VNU. In Vietnam, VNU is the pioneer in the ASEAN University Network and the Ministry of Education and Training standard quality assurance and accreditation.

According to VNU Vice President, quality assurance and accreditation played an important role in innovating and improving higher education quality. He hoped that the workshop would disseminate the UK’s quality assurance and accreditation expertise to the participants and equip them with appropriate accreditation knowledge and skills to satisfy the needs of the Centres for education accreditation and assessment in Vietnam.

Mrs. Cherry Gough, Director of the British Council in Vietnam, said that the British Council gave priority to higher education and research to enhance the global education and create opportunities for global citizen. The British Council works closely with governments, universities, research institutes, individuals and ministries in Vietnam, the United Kingdom and the world over to share typical examples of success stories for professional development of policies, leadership skills, students employability and specialist research. In higher education internationalization, the British Council in Vietnam focuses on promoting Vietnam higher education reform’s primary priorities to quality assurance, training quality enhancement, assessment, accreditation and industry engagement.

She affirmed that quality assurance played an important role in higher education and was the key priority in establishing cooperative ties between the British Council and the Ministry of Education and Training and universities. She hoped that the UK’s experience in quality assurance would help enhance the participating accreditors’ professional capacity to develop professionally in the field as well as contribute to the promoting of higher education quality.

The named workshop was held from March 13 to March 15, 2017 at VNU.
