11. Summary of the new findings of the dissertation:

- This study has made contribution to clarifying one of the important dimensions in the cultural space of E-de and Mnong on the Central Highlands, i.e. the social dimension with people as an entity, in which women play an extremely important role in community activities and traditional family life in matriliny.

- The roles and position of the Central Highlands women is a cultural tradition embedded in matriliny. This is a long-lived cultural tradition of several ethnic groups on the Central Highlands. Due to the considerable economic and social changes, its values cannot remain a constant. With time, together with the economic development entailing the social and cultural changes in the whole region of the Central Highlands, the roles and position of women are certainly subject to changes in different ways in different regions. This thesis attempted to interpret the causes of the changes when surveying the roles and position of E-de and Mnong females on the Central Highlands.

- The results of this study has made a contribution to the information of the roles and position of women in family and community lives, society, work, relationships with parents, children, husbands, and siblings through epics and customs of E-de and Mnong on the Central Highlands in comparison with the present life. This study provides a detailed, specific and systematic understanding of the roles and position of E-de and Mnong women from the traditional to present society.

- Through the SWOT analysis of the roles and position of E-de and Mnong women, this study has pointed out the strengths, opportunities, weaknesses, and threats in order to suggest solutions to improve the roles and positions of women in society.

- Through the roles and position of women acknowledged in epics and customs, this study has clarified the cultural features of E-de and Mnong on the Central Highlands.

12. Applicability:

- Contributing to the documents on methods to organize traditional society of the Ede and Mnong groups, an important aspect of the cultural space of the Ede and Mnong on the Central Highland.

- Serving as a source of reference for studies on ethnology, sociology, cultural studies and for policy makers of human resources and gender equality on the Central Highland. In a region with different ethnic groups and economic problems like the Central Highland, it is necessary to study the position and roles of women through the system of epics and customs. This helps conserve values of cultural folklore, especially folklore knowledge of community organization.

- Asserting the unique values of Central Highland epics and customs in reflecting social life of the Central Highland ethnic community truly and visually. The results of this study can also be a source of reference for researchers who desire to have insights into the position of women in matrilineal communities on the Central Highland in Vietnam in a historical period.

13. Further research directions:

- The data of this thesis can be used to compare and contrast the position and roles of Ede ad Mnong females to those of different ethnic minority groups for similarities and differences.

- The researcher can also study the position and roles of Ede and Mnong females in different locations.
