11. Summary of the new findings of the thesis:
The thesis deeply studied about the prototype theory, then formed a firm theory basis to study about not only subject components in Vietnamese but also other syntactic objects.
The thesis established a set including 13 criteria to identify prototype subjects in Vietnamese. On that base, the thesis analyzed the cases of prototype subjects and the cases of non-prototype subjects. The consistent analysis process according to the spirit of prototype theory clarified some controversial subject cases, e.g. the cases of sentences with or without subjects, etc. Thereby, we can come to a consensus in establishing a structure set to describe Vietnamese subjects.
12. Practical applicability: The research result of the thesis will be probably applied in compiling Vietnamese textbooks, Vietnamese teaching books for foreigners and philological teaching books.
13. Further research directions: functional grammar, cognitive linguistics.
